The East Valley Harmonizers have selected Kirk Hyder as their new Musical Director. Kirk is a 43-year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. He studied voice and vocal performance at Northwestern University. He’s the former director of the Meno-Har-Monee Chorus (Menomonee Falls WI), a charter member of the renowned Midwest Vocal Express chorus (Greendale WI), and a former Member of the award winning Ambassadors of Harmony Chorus, (St Charles, MO). Kirk also sang bass in the Land O Lakes District Champion Quartet "Jackpot". Kirk lives in Sun Lakes Arizona with his wife Barb and their dog Gracie. Kirk and Barb are both active members of the Sun Lake Chorale.
Kirk has coached many choruses and quartets over the past 40 years. He will be focused on strengthening the musical program and in turn rebuilding the membership for the East Valley Harmonizers. Kirk is excited and honored to have been selected by the East Valley Harmonizers and looks forward to meeting the other great barbershoppers in the Arizona Division and the Far Western District.
